University of Hawaii running back Joey Iosefa has been added to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award on Thursday.

The award, which debuted in 1989, recognizes the “nation’s premier running back” according to its website.

Andre Williams of Boston College was the 2013 winner. The award is named for the former Southern Methodist running back.

Iosefa, who is a fifth-year senior, led UH with 590 yards and five touchdowns on 126 carries in an injury-abbreviated 2013 season.

There are 55 players on the watch list, including UH opponents Joe Hill (Utah State), Donnel Pumphrey (San Diego State) and Christian Powell (Colorado).
