A 7-year-old boy was injured during a Molokai house fire Monday afternoon.

Maui fire officials said the Kaunakakai house was destroyed, and damage to the home was estimated at $200,000.

Molokai firefighters responded to the 5:24 p.m. alarm and arrived at 308 Seaside Place, finding the 1,400-square-foot single-family house completely engulfed in flames, fire officials said in an email.

The fire was brought under control at 6:24 p.m.

Seven people occupied the home, including three adults and four children.

A 7-year-old boy suffered minor injury to his hand. He was treated by medics and taken to Molokai General Hospital.

The cause is undetermined, but found to be accidental, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
