Man charged with using another’s credit card at Cartier, Chanel

A Honolulu man was charged Tuesday for allegedly stealing personal information from a woman and then using her credit card at two luxury stores in Honolulu.

Binh Tran was charged Tuesday on two counts of second-degree identity theft, two counts of credit card forgery, attempted second-degree theft, second-degree theft, unauthorized possession of confidential personal information, according to charging documents filed in Circuit Court.

On Friday, Tran allegedly had the woman’s confidential personal information including mail, physical documents, indentification cards or information stored digitally in his possession.

He also allegedly used her information with the intent to commit theft from her, thus committing identity theft.

He used a falsely made or falsely embossed Capital One Platinum Master Card twice on Friday.

Tran went to Chanel Inc. and Cartier Hawaii Inc. and stole merchandise valued at more than $300 from each of the stores
