Other storm closures

Some businesses that planned to be closed today have or will open Friday, while others waited until this morning to announce availability.

Banking

Bank of Hawaii will resume normal hours of operation Saturday, Aug. 9. In the meantime, online banking and ATM services are available, depending on availability of power. Updates will continue to be posted to the Bank of Hawaii Facebook page, which is accessible to the general public.

First Hawaiian Bank offering Saturday operations will open as normal Aug. 9.

Healthcare

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii island facilities opened at 10 a.m., with the exception of the Hilo Clinic, which remained closed for the day along with the Mobile Health Vehicle. Maui Lani Medical Office opened at 10 a.m., while all other Maui facilities are closed today but will resume normal hours Saturday. Moanalua Medical Center opened at 10 a.m. and will have a walk-in clinic open through 10 p.m. All other Kaiser Permanente facilities plan to resume normal operations Saturday.

Hawaii Pacific Health hospital and clinic operations statewide, which were interrupted by Hurricane Iselle, will resume normal operations Saturday, Aug. 9.

Insurance services

First Insurance Hawaii welcomes claims calls to its catastrophe call center, which will be open throughout the weekend. 1 (888) FIC-OH4U.

DTRIC Insurance employees will set up community response centers on Hawaii Island, Maui and Kauai starting Monday to help customers file claims and begin the recovery process.

Island Insurance claims staff were in office assisting customers Friday and will be providing assistance through the weekend as well. Island Insurance’s Claims Division can be reached at (808) 564-8222 or toll-free from the neighbor islands at (888) 312-2525.

Home supply stores

City Mill and Hardware Hawaii stores are open today, both indicating they will stay open as long as possible.

Restaurants

Big City Diner: Waipio, Pearlridge and Kailua locations open today. Ward Village location opened at 3 p.m., and Kaimuki to open tonight.

Fresh Cafe: Both locations are open today.

IHOP: All Hawaii locations are open.

J’s BBQ on Keawe Street is open.

Kin Chan Sushi at Waterfront Plaza opened for dinner at 5:30 p.m.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue: Most locations are open for business, company recommends calling before going.

McDonald’s of Hawaii locations opened or remained closed today on a store-by-store basis. As the company receives favorable news reports about the weather, operations are getting back to normal where power is unaffected, according to a spokeswoman.

Roy’s restaurants in Hawaii Kai and Waikiki are open.

Teddy’s Bigger Burgers: all locations are open.

Zippy’s: The Kaimuki, Kalihi, Koko Marina, Waimalu and Nimitz locations are CLOSED Friday. Restaurants will reopen Saturday if weather permits.

Retail

Hawaii Kai Towne Center has announced that some of its stores and restaurants are open.

Walgreens has announced that all Hawaii locations are open today.

Entertainment

Consolidated Theatres’ at Pearlridge opened at 1:30 Friday. Officials say patrons must enter the mall from the third and fourth level parking lot at Pearlridge Downtown. Mililani and Kapolei locations opened this afternoon as well. Company working to get Ward Theatres opened.

Visitor attractions

The Battleship Missouri Memorial is closed today and will extend its closure through Saturday, August 9.
