Boy, 16, charged in death of Waipahu man

Police arrested Wednesday a 16-year-old boy wanted for murder in the death of a 28-year-old Waipahu man Aug. 4.

The teenager was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of second-degree murder and third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs.

Prosecutors later charged the teen Wednesday with second-degree assault and third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs.

Police said the man suffered injuries during an altercation 12:25 a.m. Aug. 4 in Waipahu and died shortly upon arrival at the hospital.

He was identified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office as MC Eis.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said Eis died of blunt impact of head and penetrating injury of the torso.
