A 27-year-old homeless man, arrested after police said he kicked an officer in the face Tuesday in Waikiki, was released without being charged after prosecutors declined to pursue the case,

Police said the incident happened around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday when Waikiki patrol officers stopped the suspect to question him. The suspect allegedly tried to punch one of officers, then kicked another officer in the face, police said.

Police arrested the suspect on Hobron Lane on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
