The Hawaii women’s soccer team prevailed over Northern Illinois, 3-2, in a physical battle for the first win of the 2014 season for the Rainbow Wahine.

It was completed as a 10-on-10 match as one player from each team was dismissed from play because of two yellow cards.

Sophomore Kama Pascua, freshman Dani Crawford and sophomore Storm Kenui had the goals for UH (1-2). NIU (0-3) scored with 8:41 to play, making it a one-score game, but the Wahine were able to drain enough time to pull out the victory.

The Wahine continue play on Monday against Seattle (1-1).
