Visits to Kulani Correctional Facility canceled

Visitation at Kulani Correctional Facility in Hilo have been cancelled Monday due to staffing shortages, according to the Department of Public Safety. 

The department has started to post visitation cancellation notices on Facebook and Twitter to inform people who are planning to visit a loved one at the facility.

Notices are posted between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled visitation day, according to a news release.
