    Hawaii County police are trying to learn the identity of an attempted suspect.

Hawaii County police are trying to learn the identity of a suspect in an attempted robbery in May in Puna.

About 8:30 p.m. May 2, an attempted robbery was reported at the Pahoa 7-Eleven. A man entered the store and demanded money from an employee who refused, police said. The suspect then fled. After the 19-year-old male victim refused the demand, the suspect fled the area.

The suspect was described as a male in his early 20s, between 5 feet 8 Inches and 5 feet 10 inchest tall, weighing about 165 pounds.
