The State Department of Accounting and General Services announced today it is, "requesting information from the public and qualified vendors about the feasibility, estimated costs and potential approaches to designing, building, and financing a new stadium and ancillary development on the current Aloha Stadium site."

It is the third step in a planned eight-step process to determine the future of Aloha Stadium.

An announcement said the RFI "is intended to provide DAGS with background information for the development of a subsequent request for proposals or request for sealed bids for this project, subject to funding."

The announcement said, "Participation in this RFI process is voluntary, and is not a prerequisite to respond to any subsequent Request for Proposals, or Request for Sealed Bids. Neither the purchasing agency nor the interested party has any obligation under this Request for Information."

The state said submittals will be accepted until 2 p.m. Oct. 20.
