WAILUKU >> A 19-year-old Kihei man has been indicted in the beating death of a homeless man.

The Maui News reports Kekaimalu Cacpal was arrested Wednesday.

He’s the second person charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of 44-year-old Michael Phillip Gray at a Kalama Park in Kihei.

Gray was found unconscious March 15 at a park pavilion. He died April 11.

An autopsy concluded he had fractures to his face, both sides of his skull and both sides of his ribs.

Police say a witness identified Cacpal as one of three men who punched, kicked and stomped Gray.

A second man, 18-year-old Kaniela Dutro, also is charged with murder in the case.

A suspect who was 15 at the time of the attack is under Family Court jurisdiction.
