Isaac Akina was charged with burglary and theft after being arrested in an allegedly stolen boat.

Hawaii County police arrested and charged two men last week accused of stealing an aluminum skiff and an outboard motor in separate incidents.

Michael McCrum, 22, and Isaac Akina, 19, both of Kailua-Kona, were arrested Thursday after they were found onboard the skiff, which had been outfitted with a outboard motor stolen earlier in the day from a boat belonging to a 42-year-old man.

Detectives subsequently learned that the skiff had been reported stolen during the burglary of two Weli Weli Beach homes on Aug. 3.

On Friday, police charged McCrum with burglary, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, and three counts of theft. His bail was set at $47,000.

Akina was charged with burglary, criminal property damage and two counts of theft. His bail was set at $9,500.
