7 taken to hospital after crash of tour van, tow truck at Kahana Bay

Emergency Medical Services paramedics transported seven to out of 12 people who were involved in a crash of a tour van with a tow truck at Kahana Bay to hospital emergency rooms.

EMS said in a report that a 25-year-old man, who was an occupant of the tow truck, and a 74-year-old woman, who was an occupant of the tour van were in serious condition, and taken to a trauma center.

The remaining five people, who were occupants of the van, were taken in stable condition to a hospital.

Paramedics treated 12 patients. Five refused transport.

The crash occurred at 12:46 p.m. at the bridge near Kahana Bay State Park, EMS said.
