The Coast Guard searched for a possible missing boater offshore of the Kilauea Lighthouse Tuesday after an inflatable raft was found adrift in the area.

The Coast Guard launched a search for a possible missing person after an inflatable boat was found about a mile offshore from the Kilauea Lighthouse on Kauai.

The boat was found at about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday. There were no missing persons or distress reports in the area, the Coast Guard said in a news release.

A 45-foot response boat from Coast Guard Station Kauai and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Barbers Point searched the area.

The Coast Guard reminds boaters to register and label all watercraft and equipment with contact information so owners can be quickly located.

The Coast Guard offers free “If found” decals available at harbors and some marine retail and supply stores.
