The Coast Guard and Hawaii  County Fire Department are searching for a 65-year-old man, who apparently fell off his boat early Wednesday morning near Pohoiki Bay.

Missing is Charles Rosecranes, who was last seen at 1 a.m. when he fell overboard from a 15-foot outboard skiff he and his friend had been operating.

A Coast Guard  HC-130 Hercules airplane crew and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point searched by air for Rosecranes. The crew of the 110-foot Coast Guard Cutter Kiska, homeported in Hilo, and crews from the Hawaii Fire Department, joined the search.

Rosecranes is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue and white pin-striped shirt, rain coat, pants and rubber boots.
