Maui Police identified a 50-year-old Kihei man, whose vehicle went off a cliff and was submerged in about 10 feet of water.

Donald Craig Clary was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday morning off the scenic lookout of the Honoapiilani Highway.

According to the Maui Fire Department, the sedan was discovered around 8:45 a.m. Saturday by three skin divers who were sport-fishing in the area south of Lahaina.

Arriving fire rescue personnel found the vehicle about 40 feet below the top of the cliff. It was underwater, about 30 feet off the shoreline.

The body was removed from the vehicle and airlifted to a landing zone at the lookout.
