Police have charged a 22-year-old man seen operating a stolen moped late Friday evening in the Kapiolani area.

According to police, an officer witnessed the suspect on a moped committing a traffic violation around 11:30 p.m. The officer later found the moped abandoned and located the suspect, identified as Mike Janosky, nearby. A check revealed that the moped had been reported stolen.

Janosky, who does not have a local address, was charged Saturday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. His bail was set at $20,000.
