The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the  43-year-old man, who died Wednesday when his pickup truck hit a city bus near Ko Olina, as Vincent Peneyra.

The cause of death is pending the completion of an autopsy. The medical examiner said Peneyra didn’t have a local address.

Police said he died at the scene.

Police said the bus was traveling toward Waianae on Farrington Highway when it stopped to pick up a passenger and was struck from behind.

A boy, a passenger on the bus, suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the scene.

Peneyra is Oahu’s 52nd traffic fatality this year, compared with 49 at the same time last year.
