A 3-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when a car struck the bicycle they were riding in Waianae, Emergency Medical Services reported.

The child was being carried “piggy-back style” on a BMX bike when the car hit the side of the bicycle, EMS said.

EMS said the “low-speed collision” occurred at 5:16 p.m. in front of the Waianae Boat Harbor located at 85-491 Farrington Highway.

The two were taken by ambulance in serious condition to a hospital.
