Police seek public’s help in newspaper seller’s stabbing death
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for the death of a 70-year-old newspaper seller.
Thaddeus “Ted” Pirga Jr., a popular newspaper vendor on Waialae Avenue was fatally stabbed at about 4 a.m. Sunday in front of Cafe Miro, where he sold the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on Sundays.
Pirga’s wallet and keys were still on him, his daughter said.
Police said Pirga was last seen alive prior to 3:40 a.m. Sunday fronting 3446 Waialae Ave.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.
CrimeStoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect.
