A 35-year-old Honolulu police officer pleaded not guilty Thursday to an allegation that he fondled a female who was in police custody.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Kramer Aoki, a six-year Honolulu Police Department veteran, on the charge of third-degree sexual assault.

Aoki is accused of placing his hand on the female’s breast on Sept. 6 while employed as a law enforcement officer, the indictment says.

His trial is scheduled for the week of Jan. 12. His bail of $15,000 was confirmed at the arraignment.
