Fence becomes memorial for slain Linfield College student

McMINNVILLE, Ore. >> A fence near the football field at Linfield College has become a memorial for Parker Moore, a football player who was stabbed to death Saturday night at a convenience store near the campus in McMinnville.

The 20-year-old football player also was mourned Sunday night in his home town of Woodinville, Washington. About 100 friends and former high school teammates attended a vigil at Woodinville Alliance Church where Moore was remembered as an athlete, leader and friend.

Yamhill County investigators say the stabbing appeared to be random. They hope store video may explain how it happened.

Sheriff’s Capt. Tim Svenson says the suspect was killed when he returned to the store and confronted officers with a knife.
