A small plane remained on the runway at John Rodgers Field in Kalealoa Monday night after it made a belly landing earlier in the day.

No one was injured when a single-engine Piper 28 Cherokee landed safely at Kalaeloa with its retractable landing gear in the up position, Federal Aviation Administration officials said Tuesday.

The FAA is investigating the incident which occurred at 5:30 p.m. Monday at John Rodgers Field.

The pilot was the only person on the four-seat aircraft, which suffered minor damage.

The 13-year-old aircraft is registered to George’s Aviation Services on Lagoon Drive.
