Police arrested four people in three separate forgery incidents in Waikiki between Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday afternoon, police arrested a 37-year-old Maui man and a 27-year-old woman who allegedly tried to use a stolen check to pay for their stay at a Waikiki hotel.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of second-degree forgery and second-degree theft. They were released pending further investigation.

On Friday morning, police arrested a 35-year-old Kahuku man on suspicion of first-degree forgery for attempting to purchase items from a Waikiki business using a stolen check. He was released pending further investigation.

On Friday evening, a 40-year-old Kahala man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree forgery for trying to cash two forged checks at a Money Mart on Atkinson Drive.
