Police: Man attacked in Makiki, phone stolen

Two men were in police custody after they allegedly attacked a man in Makiki and stole his cell phone early Monday morning.

Police said the 45-year-old victim was attacked just before 4 a.m. One of the suspects allegedly punched the victim in the head. knocking him to the ground. The second suspect allegedly kicked the victim as he lay on the ground. The suspects then took the victim’s cell phone. 

Officers arrested the two suspects, ages 32 and 33, near Kinau and Piikoi streets shortly after the incident.

Both listed addresses on the Big Island when they were arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
