Wailuku man in critical condition after paddle boarding

A 60-year-old Wailuku man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being rescued from the ocean at a Maui spot known as “River Mouth” in Waiehu, Maui police reported.

Maui police said the victim was not breathing when he was rescued at 3:20 p.m. Sunday. Maui police officers initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Police said  the victim was injured while paddle boarding in the ocean off of Kaae Road in Waiehu.

Paramedics took him to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.
