    The Ward Village Gateway will include a one-acre public park and two mixed-use towers with about 236 residences and 20,000 square feet of retail along Auahi Street.

The Hawai’i Community Development Authority today approved the first residential and commercial development in Phase Two of Howard Hughes Corp.’s Ward Village Master Plan.

Ward Village Gateway also is to include two mixed-use high-rise towers with 236 residential units and close to 20,000 square feet of retail space along Auahi Street where Ward Warehouse is now.

The project also includes a one-acre park.

Plans for the rest of Phase Two also include a flagship, 50,000 square-foot Whole Foods Market in the former Nordstrom Rack location.
