The Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking donors during the holiday season, when the number of donors typically drop.
President and Chief Executive Officer Kim-Ahn Nguyen said the number of donors usually dwindle during the season because of busy family schedules.
About 200 donors are needed daily to maintain a sufficient supply to help those in need of blood transfusions. One of seven people entering a hospital will need blood, she added.
Donors must be in good health, 18 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid photo identification. An individual can donate blood up to six times a year.
To schedule an appointment, go to the Blood Bank of Hawaii’s website at www.BBH.org or call 848-4770.
