RENO, Nev. >> Authorities have identified a 76-year-old California man found dead and his two sons who are missing after their boat was found capsized at Pyramid Lake in northern Nevada.

Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe emergency response coordinator Don Pelt tells the Reno Gazette-Journal that Fred Turner of Gold Run, California, and sons, Frank Turner, also of Gold Run, and Bill Turner, from Hawaii, failed to return home Monday.

Security officers found their truck trailer Tuesday parked at Pelican Point beach.

Pelt says the three men were frequent fishermen at the lake, but it appears they weren’t wearing life jackets.

Pelt says a Washoe County sheriff’s office helicopter found the dual outboard motor boat flipped over more than a mile offshore in the Hell’s Kitchen Canyon area.

The lake is about 50 miles north of Reno.
