An Oahu Community Correctional Center work furlough inmate was arrested Friday after failing to return from work, officials said.

Police arrested Albert Ching, 36, about 7:30 a.m. on Hoawa Street in McCully for investigation of second-degree escape. He was returned to OCCC.

A Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said Ching was supposed to check in by 1:30 a.m. Friday. Police were notified when he didn’t show up.

According to court records, Ching was sentenced in 2011 to ten years in prison for six felonies, including terroristic threatening, criminal property damage, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
