Senior outside hitter Shih Ting “Stella” Chen added to her career accolades Wednesday when being named the 2014 Ron Lenz Daktronics National Player of the Year as well as an AVCA All-American for NCAA Division II.

It was the third AVCA All-America honor for Chen, a Taiwanese national. She ended her career as the Seasiders’ all-time kill leader with 1,812 and second in digs with 1,320.

Chen also holds the Division II record for highest kills per set during the rally-scoring, 25-point-match era (2008-present) with 4.82 kills per set.

BYUH (22-6), last season’s national runner-up, ended the year with a 3-1 loss to Dixie State in the West Regional semifinal on Nov. 21.
