High surf advisory extended through Friday

A high surf advisory for the east shores of all islands was extended through Friday evening.

A northwest swell promises 8- to 10-foot surf Thursday night, easing to 5- to 7-foot surf Friday morning, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

The advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Friday.

Beachgoers are advised to heed all advice given by ocean safety officials.
