SEATTLE >> Reigning national player of the year Krista Vansant put down 22 kills and No. 3 Washington eliminated No. 23 Hawaii in the second round of the NCAA tournament for the third time in five years, 25-20, 19-25, 25-16, 25-14 Saturday night at the Alaska Airlines.

Nikki Taylor had 14 kills and Kalei Greeley and Kalei Adolpho each had 10 for the Rainbow Wahine (22-7). In the loss, senior libero Sarah Mendoza set a program record for digs in a four-set match. The previous record was 31 by Elizabeth Ka’aihue in 2007.
