Woman, 2 dogs, escape house fire in Wailuku, Maui

A woman and her three dogs escaped without harm from a fire that engulfed a two-story home in Wailuku on Saturday.

Firefighters responding to a 7:48 p.m. alarm found the blaze spread across the first floor and threatening the second.

The fire was brought under control just before 8 p.m. and was fully extinguished by 10:33 p.m.

Damage to the structure was estimated at $100,000 with an additional $5,000 in damage to the contents.

The cause of the fire is undetermined
