The Department of Public Safety cancelled regularly scheduled visitation Sunday to the Kulani Correctional Center in Hilo.
Such cancellations have been an almost-weekly occurrence this year due to ongoing staffing shortages as the department contends with chronic absenteeism.
Visitation also was cancelled at Kulani on Aug. 30 and 31, Sep. 6, Oct. 26 and Nov. 1.
