Burglars steal equipment from Hawaii island macadamia nut facility

Hawaii County police are asking for help in finding the person or persons who burglarized a macadamia nut facility Sunday in Keaau and stole electronic parts valued at more than $8,000.

Police said someone broke into the Island Princess Macadamia Nut facility, located at 12-261 Shipman Road, and removed electronic components for a macadamia nut quality control machine.

The components, manufactured by Satake USA, look like internal computer parts/camera cards and are worth more than $8,000.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or call Officer Brian Souki at 966-5835.

Anonymous calls may be made to CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
