Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is visiting India to talk about priorities the country shares with Hawaii.

Gabbard met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and talked about defeating the threat posed by ISIS and other Islamic extremists.

They also talked about collaborating to address environmental problems and to maximize economic opportunities.

Gabbard says the potential for the relationship between the United States and India is extremely bright.

She’s meeting with leaders in the fields of military, government, education, technology, tourism, environmental protection and renewable energy.

Gabbard also will explore opportunities for women and children.

She’s also carving out time for executives in the Indian Film Industry to create more opportunities for the industry in Hawaii.

Gabbard’s goal is to strengthen the relationship between the world’s largest and oldest democracies.
