Honolulu police opened an unattended death case Thursday afternoon after a body was found floating in Kewalo Basin Harbor.

Police responded to a so-called suspicious circumstances call around 3:15 p.m. near the shuttered Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant.

A man believed to be in his 50s was found floating lifeless in the water. City emergency medical services and fire crews were notified.

Police said there were no initial signs of foul play. The case has been turned over to homicide detectives.
