A 30-year-old Captain Cook man was charged Wednesday with 21 offenses stemming from various crimes in the Kona District in December and January, Hawaii County police said.

Police said two men broke into a limousine and taxi rental service 2:30 a.m. Dec. 26 in Kailua-Kona and stole keys to three taxi vans, a cellphone, office equipment and cash. One taxi was damaged and two were taken from the property.
Police investigation led to one of the suspects — Kaimiola, and police began searching for him, police said. Acting on an anonymous tip, police found and arrested him at his Honaunau home for a no-bail warrant for furlough violation and for discharge of sureties and two counts of contempt of court.
Detectives arrested Kaimiola Monday at the Kona police cellblock on suspicion of burglary and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
The detectives’ investigation linked him to more crimes in Kona between Dec. 18 and Jan. 10.
On Wednesday, he was charged with two counts of burglary, five counts of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, two counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, three counts of theft, two counts of theft/forgery of a credit card, two counts of unauthorized possession of confidential information and a firearm offense.
