The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 28-year-old man Tuesday who died Sunday night after being found unconscious in waters off the area known as China Walls in Hawaii Kai.

He was identified as Thomas J. Ferrara, 28, of Pennsylvania. An autopsy was performed, but the cause of death has been deferred, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ferrara was missing Sunday evening while friends were at the water’s edge.
