Firefighters pulled an unconscious man out of Nuuanu Stream Friday night.
The Fire Department got the call at about 9:43 p.m.
Police dispatch said two men were arguing and one of them ended up in the water off River Street in downtown Honolulu.
Firefighters were working to resuscitate the man, police said.
