Rescuers on Friday were searching for a possible missing person off of Barbers Point after finding a kayak adrift.

The Coast Guard said it was searching in an area approximately 15 miles south of Barbers Point. The kayak, a 12-foot green Islander, was first spotted by a Coast Guard air crew that called in a report at 11:33 a.m.

There are no missing persons or distress reports in the area, the Coast Guard said.

Anyone with information that may help identify the owner of the kayak is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center at (808) 842-2600.
