The Hawaii basketball team could not maintain a hot start as its offense dried up in a 65-50 loss at Long Beach State on Saturday afternoon.

UH (15-8, 3-4 Big West) was held to a season low in points, despite scoring the first 12 points of the game. UH led 17-6 midway through the first half, but the first-place 49ers (12-11, 6-1) used a large run to get within a point by halftime.

It was all LBSU in the second half. For the game, UH was held to 34.5 percent shooting to 41.9 percent for the 49ers.

UH connected on just seven of 17 free-throw attempts (41.2 percent) to 23 of 30 for LBSU (76.7 percent).

LBSU’s top player, point guard Mike Caffey, was held to five points (13 below his average) on 2-for-11 shooting. But four other Beach players scored in double figures in their home Pyramid.

Forward Stefan Jankovic led Hawaii with 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting. Point guard Roderick Bobbitt had five assists and eight steals — bringing him to fourth on the UH single-season list at 74 — but also committed seven turnovers.

Reserve forward Mike Thomas fouled out with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Details of the NCAA’s Notice of Allegations in its investigation of the Rainbow Warriors program were made available on Saturday. There were three alleged Level I violations (the most severe variety) and four charges of Level II violations in the report.

UH continues its four-game road trip at Cal Poly on Thursday.
