Punahou School punter Alex Trifonovitch has accepted an offer to join the University of Hawaii football team.

Trifonovitch was named to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s 2013 All-State second team as a punter.

Trifonovitch recently was named to Chris Sailer’s 2014 All-America first team as a punter. Sailer runs a kicking academy that attracted 700 players nationwide to last week’s event.

Trifonovitch turned down an offer from Army to commit to the Warriors. He will succeed Scott Harding, who completed his UH eligibility in December.
