University of Hawaii officials reported two separate incidents that occurred Sunday involving an attempted robbery at a dorm and an alleged off-campus sexual assault.

The alleged sexual assault occurred at 2 a.m. Sunday when a homeless man with a beard approached a female student near Beretania Street and University Avenue and grabbed her, the University of Hawaii Manoa Department of Public Safety reported. The student managed to flee the area.

At 10 p.m. Sunday, a homeless man in his 40s approached an employee on the ground floor outside of Kuykendall Hall and asked for his wallet, campus security reported.

The employee refused and the male fled on foot towards Dole Street.  No weapon or threat of force was used in this incident.
