The deadline to file to run for a seat on a Honolulu neighborhood board is the close of business Friday.

About 500 people have already filed to run for 437 seats on Oahu’s 33 boards, but Honolulu Neighborhood Commission Executive Director Nicole Velasco said not all the seats have candidates.

Specifically, the Kuliouou/Kalani Iki board still has at least four openings as does the Liliha/Puunui/Alewa/Kamehameha Heights board, Velasco said. The Mililani Mauka/Launani Valley board needs three more candidates and the Pearl City board needs two, she said.

The all-online election runs from April 24 to May 15. All registered voters in the last election are immediately eligible to vote.

For more information, go to www.honolulu.gov/nco or call the Neighborhood Commission Office at 768-3717.
