Female missionary charged with sexual assault of girl, 15

A 26-year-old missionary from the Philippines who was reported missing in Honolulu earlier this month has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Kristina Angeles was reported missing after failing to return to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Waipahu on Jan. 30.

Angeles, whose visa was set to expire in April, was arrested at the Pearl City police station on Thursday morning.

She was charged that evening with one count of first-degree sexual assault and three counts of third-degree sexual assault.

The assaults allegedly occurred between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, 2014.

Angeles’s aggregate bail was set at $75,000.

Church representatives confirmed that the church had sponsored Angeles’s visa and that she residing in Waipahu at the time that she went missing.
