The after-school program at Waialua High and Intermediate on Oahu’s North Shore are receiving some much-needed sports equipment.

Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui is presenting the equipment Tuesday along with an initiative he founded: Resources for Enrichment, Athletics, Culture and Health or R.E.A.C.H.

The National Football League is partnering with them on the project.

Tsutsui founded the initiative in 2013. The lieutenant governor’s office says the program promotes learning during after-school hours to help students graduate and be successful.

Twenty schools have participated in the program since it was started last year. Eleven schools are participating this year.
