Big Island summits are under a winter weather advisory and high wind warning as a cold spell in Hawaii continues.

Up to an inch of snow could fall Monday above 12,500 feet and winds are gusting at 45 to 70 mph with localized gust of more than 105 mph.

The warning and advisory are in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.

Meanwhile, forecasters say the extra-blanket and sweater weather in the rest of the state is expected to continue through the end of the week.

Temperatures at night will remain in the50s and 60s and daytime highs will be in the 70s for most of the state.

North winds and clouds blocking the sun are keeping temperatures low.

Except for the Big Island, the clouds aren’t bringing much rain.

The forecast for Honolulu and south shores of Oahu calls for mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies Monday with highs between 71 and 80 degrees and north winds of 10 to 15 mph.

Lows Monday and Tuesday night will be between 56 and 66 degrees.
