Aliviado homers again but Rainbows lose to Oklahoma

Kaeo Aliviado homered in his fourth consecutive home game but Hawaii did nothing else offensively in a 5-1 loss to Oklahoma on Thursday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Jake Elliott (3-1) allowed three hits in a career-high eight innings with five strikeouts to earn the win for the Sooners (13-7), who suffered through a 20-hour travel day to get here at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.

L.J. Brewster fell to 3-2 overall for Hawaii (6-11), which has lost three straight and six of seven. Brewster allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings on seven hits with no walks and no strikeouts.

Catcher Chris Shaw went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Taylor Alspaugh hit a two-run single off Brewster in the third inning to lead Oklahoma.

Alex Sawelson singled twice and Jordan Richartz had the other hit for Hawaii.

The series continues Friday night at 6:35.
